Happy 4th of July!

I found these adorable patriotic strawberries on Pinterest and knew right away I wanted to make them for the 4th of July.  They looked simple enough so I figured I didn’t need to find the directions.  I mean how difficult could they be…dip some strawberries in white chocolate.  Let them harden.  Dip the strawberry tips in white chocolate tinted blue with food coloring. Let them harden and then enjoy!

Wrong!

Who knew that if you added food coloring to melted white chocolate it would immediately stiffen and become too lumpy for dipping the strawberries?!?

And so my red, white, and blue strawberries are just red and white strawberries…I’ll be serving them on a blue plate!

At least I can count this dessert as healthy because it contains fruit…right?!?
